HyCyte® AR Cell Proliferation and Cytotoxicity Assay Kit (CCK8) is a rapid, high-sensitivity detection kit based on WST-8, widely used for cell proliferation and cytotoxicity, with performance and stability comparable to similar imported products.
WST-8 is a compound similar to MTT. In the presence of the electron-coupling agent 1-methoxy-PMS, it can be reduced by cellular dehydrogenases to produce an orange-yellow water-soluble formazan. The amount of formazan produced is proportional to the number of viable cells: the faster the cell proliferation, the deeper the color; the greater the cytotoxicity, the lighter the color. Therefore, this property can be used directly for cell proliferation and toxicity analysis.
