HyCyte® Blasticidin, Bsd, 10 mg/mL

Blasticidin S is a nucleoside antibiotic derived from Streptomyces griseochromogenes, known in Chinese as 灭瘟素S, 杀稻瘟菌素S, or 稻瘟散, generally as the hydrochloride salt. Blasticidin S is commonly used to select mammalian stably transfected cell lines carrying the bsr/BSD/bls gene (often marked as bsrr/bsdr/Blastr) plasmid, with a rapid and potent mode of action; very low antibiotic concentrations rapidly kill cells lacking the resistance gene.
This product is supplied as a 10 mg/mL preparation in HEPES buffer, at a concentration of 10 mg/mL, filter-sterilized through a 0.22 μm membrane, and can be used directly in cell culture.
