HyCyte® Black Gel Worm Removal Reagent (1000×)
CAT #VG-GUMR-R003
Through testing, Verygenome found that "Black Gel Worm" is mainly mycoplasma contamination, with some being unknown bacterial contamination with inconspicuous proliferation. Under low magnification, it appears as punctate or flaky black particulate; under high magnification, irregular in-situ movement (similar to Brownian motion) can be observed, hence the name "Black Gel Worm". During cell culture, "Black Gel Worm" can spread through cell passages, increasing in number, and competes with cells for nutrients in the medium. In the early stage of contamination, it has little effect on cells, but when its number reaches a certain level, cells deteriorate or even die due to nutrient deficiency.
The main component of HyCyte® Black Gel Worm Removal Reagent is an antibiotic, which can effectively control and kill "Black Gel Worm" in serum, medium, and cells. It also has a certain removal effect on common bacteria.
This product removes "Black Gel Worm" while hardly affecting the cell's own growth environment and is harmless to cells.
